The Taurus Judge comes in many different setups and more models are being added periodically. There is a 6 inch barrel, 3 inch barrel (Pictured) as well as a 2 inch barrel, and an ultra-lite version. There is also the choice of a blued finish or stainless. I chose the stainless because there is less chance of rust and less upkeep needed (though I clean my guns after every firing).
Most models of the Judge are considered heavy for a gun one would choose to conceal carry. However, this heaviness also helps reduce the recoil and even many smaller shooters will not have an issue with the kick. There are some models that have a small grip and shorter barrel which makes them much liter (such as the ultra-light model) and as such the recoil will be more significant.
As stated earlier, the Judge is not the ideal CCW. There are many other revolvers and pistols that fill this role. On the other hand, the Judge is a great truck/car gun. I keep mine in my center consul in the case of an attempted carjacking or robbery. I take advantage of the long cylinder and load mine with Federal 000 buck. Each 000 buck shell contains four .32 caliber pellets. So for each pull of the trigger four .32 caliber holes will be made in an assailant. This, along with the spread of the shot makes this a great gun for when one doesn't have the time stop and think before pulling the trigger (such as a carjacking).
